ABOUT US — WHO WE ARE, HOW GOD SAVED US, AND BANJARA MISSION INDIA WORKS

We are a family that came out of a long heritage of Hindu temple priesthood within the Banjara tribal community of India. For generations, our families served as priests, performing rituals, sacrifices, and traditional ceremonies deeply rooted in village culture. Our home was known as a spiritual center—a place where people came for blessings, healing, and protection through idols and ancient customs. We lived in a world shaped by fear, witchcraft, and spiritual darkness, believing that sacrifices were the only way to overcome evil. This is where we came from, and this is the life we once lived.

Our journey to Christ began through deep suffering. Two of our sons were attacked by witchcraft—one died in childhood, and another became paralyzed. Soon after, our eldest son fell sick and was diagnosed with cancer, and doctors said he would not survive. In our hopelessness, God sent a pastor who shared the Gospel with us. For the first time, we heard that Jesus Christ heals, restores, and gives new life. Holding a small New Testament, the mother prayed earnestly for fourteen days. One night, Jesus appeared to our son in a vision and healed him completely, and the doctors confirmed what God had done. Witnessing this miracle, we removed every idol from our home and surrendered our entire family to Jesus. From that moment, our home became a prayer house, and our lives were forever changed by the power of God.

As we began to grow in the Lord, a burden grew in our hearts for our people—the Banjara tribe, who live in forest regions, mountains, and backward villages with little access to education, medical help, or the Gospel. We started traveling village to village, sharing what Jesus had done for us, praying for people, and helping families who were trapped in the same darkness we once lived in. After years of evangelism and church planting, God led our parents to establish Gospel Banjara Evangelical Ministry (GBEM) in 2011, which is today Banjara Mission India. The ministry was born out of a miracle, a calling, and a desire to bring the light of Christ to every tribal village that had never heard His name.

Today, our ministry is actively working across two states—Telangana and Andhra Pradesh—serving Banjara, Telugu, and Hindi-speaking communities. Currently, 25 independent churches are working together with us, and each church is serving more than seven villages and thandas in their surrounding areas. In addition, more than 175 churches are connected with us across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh. Our focus is on guiding, encouraging, and strengthening local pastors while following the pattern of the early church—making disciples, raising leaders, and building home-based fellowships.
    Our ministry activities include:
    Children’s Ministry
    Women’s Ministry
    Adult Discipleship
    Youth Outreach
Audio Bible Teaching that reaches remote and rural areas.
Currently, more than 250 cell groups meet every week for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship, helping believers grow strong in the Word of God and multiply spiritually. Through these gatherings, believers are being discipled, leaders are being raised, and new fellowships are forming in villages where the Gospel is still spreading.

Alongside spiritual work, we also serve the community through medical camps, educational support, leadership training, Bible seminars, evangelism projects, and NGO initiatives that uplift tribal families. Our children’s ministry reaches more than 1,000+ kids across 25 churches under the leadership of Pastor Beulah, and more then 80+ kids cell groups across our churchs in the unreached areas of the church’s, helping children encounter God, study the Bible, and receive educational support. Through these combined efforts—spiritual and social—we strive to show the love of God in practical, life-changing ways.

We are a family saved by grace, called by God, and committed to reaching the unreached. Our passion is to raise Banjara leaders, strengthen tribal churches, and shine the light of Jesus in every village that has never heard His name. This is who we are, how God saved us, and why GBEM exists—to bring hope, healing, and the Gospel to our people.

We long to do even more for the Kingdom of God, especially in the unreached and forgotten areas, and we believe that with more resources, partners, and support, we can reach many more villages, plant more churches, train more leaders, and transform entire communities with the love of Jesus.
